Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, aging needs, or health challenges. In this vital role, you will empower residents to live as independently as possible while ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident's personal assistive devices Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting any changes to healthcare professionals Administer medications following HIPAA guidelines and care plans to ensure safety and compliance Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary restrictions and assist residents during meal times to promote independence and social interaction Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing routine cleaning tasks in residents' living areas and common spaces Support residents in engaging with community activities, social events, and recreational programs to foster socialization and community integration Document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies Experience Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings is highly preferred Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer's care), memory care strategies, and hospice or palliative care practices Hands-on experience with patient monitoring tools such as vital signs measurement and medication administration Familiarity with working with individuals with disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or developmental disabilities is advantageous Certification in CPR, First Aid, and HIPAA compliance is required; additional certifications like heavy lifting or use of Hoyer lifts are a plus Experience in long-term care environments demonstrating patience, empathy, and strong caregiving skills is essential Ability to perform light housekeeping duties including cleaning resident areas while maintaining safety standards Join us as a Direct Support Professional if you're passionate about making a positive impact through dedicated caregiving.
