Job Description

Overview We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, seniors, and those requiring specialized assistance. This role involves working closely with residents in group homes, assisted living facilities, or within the community to promote independence, safety, and well-being. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to patient-centered care and possess relevant experience in healthcare or social services settings. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor residents' health status by taking vital signs and observing for any changes in condition Administer medications following prescribed care plans and HIPAA guidelines Support residents with memory care needs such as Alzheimer's and dementia care through personalized activities and supervision Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary requirements and assist with meal consumption as needed Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to sanitation protocols Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts for safe resident transfers and mobility assistance Document care provided accurately in compliance with regulatory standards and facility policies Collaborate with healthcare professionals, families, and team members to develop and implement individualized care plans Provide emotional support, companionship, and social engagement to enhance residents' quality of life Experience Candidates should have prior experience working in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, hospice care, or similar long-term care environments. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory impairments is highly valued. Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques, medication administration, CPR/First Aid certification, HIPAA compliance, and familiarity with care planning are preferred. Prior roles involving caregiving for seniors or persons with disabilities—including home & community care—are advantageous. Candidates must be comfortable performing heavy lifting when necessary and demonstrate patience, compassion, and excellent communication skills to effectively support residents' needs.
