Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional/Medical Assistant to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with diverse needs. This dynamic role involves assisting residents with daily activities, administering basic medical care, and fostering a safe, respectful environment. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure residents' health stability. Support residents with memory care needs, including dementia and Alzheimer's care, using personalized approaches to promote comfort and safety. Administer medication under supervision following proper protocols and document all medication administration accurately. Engage residents in group activities, socialization, and recreational programs to enhance their quality of life. Practice safe patient lifting techniques and manual handling procedures to prevent injury for both residents and staff. Maintain a clean and safe environment by assisting with light cleaning, meal preparation, and ensuring adherence to health standards. Requirements Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or residential care homes is highly preferred. Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer's disease, geriatrics, and developmental disabilities enhances your ability to provide specialized care. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; ongoing training will be provided if necessary. Ability to operate standard passenger vehicles safely for community outings or appointments. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and teamwork within a caregiving environment. Physical capability for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks associated with resident care. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or cognitive impairments is a valuable asset.
