DIRECT CARE STAFF QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements:
Proficient in English both oral and written Complete two (2) 35-hour competency-based training approved, after consultation with the Community Care Facility Direct Care Training Work Group, by the department or passes a department competency test for each of the 35-hour training segments. Complete a health screen/TB clearance Complete CPR/First AID training Attend mandatory monthly in-service training
DSP Training Duty Statements:
Provide and/or arrange transportation for medical, dental, and other appointments/activities. Perform on-going program training to clients. Ability to work as a team member and to represent the facility in a positive manner. Responsible for being on premises at all times when on duty unless otherwise approved by the Administrator. Responsible for gathering, compiling, and maintaining required reports on individuals on a daily basis. Participate in ial and community integration activities with assigned individuals. Help clients in all personal care such as eating, transferring, toileting, continence training, bathing, dressing, medical and dental needs. Ensure needed maintenance and sanitation of the facility and surroundings are met. Ensure medical and dental needs of individuals are met. Ensure individual's rights are implemented. May participate in semi-annual and annual client conferences, responsible for discussing data on current client progress and objectives from collected data. All staff members present in the facility at any time are responsible for responding to any emergency, whether officially on-duty or off-duty. Shall report to Community Care Licensing Division, within the departments next working day and to ACRC, DDS, within 24 hours upon the occurrence of any of the following events: 1) The death of any client from any cause. 2) The use of automated external defibrillator. 3) Any injury to any client that requires medical treatment. 4) Any unusual incident that threatens the physical or emotional health or safety of any client 5) Any suspected physical or psychological abuse of any client 6) Epidemic outbreaks 7) Poisonings. 8) Catastrophes. 9) Fire or explosions that occur in or on the premises. Perform other duties as assigned.
