Program Type:
Community Based Day Program About the Role We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our community based day program on a short-term contract basis. This is a 3-week temporary position serving individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in the La Mesa/El Cajon area. The ideal candidate is energetic, patient, and committed to supporting individuals in living meaningful, active lives in their community. Must use personal vehicle. Gas will be compensated. Responsibilities Pick up and transport a group of 3 individuals to and from community-based activities daily Facilitate engaging, person-centered day program activities in the community Support individuals with daily activities, outings, and skill-building opportunities Implement individualized support plans in accordance with each person's goals Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all individuals at all times Promote community integration and inclusion Document and report observations related to participant behavior, health, and progress Communicate effectively with supervisors and families as needed Requirements Prior experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred Valid California driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation capable of transporting 3 individuals Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start date) Ability to pass a background check and DMV check Strong communication, patience, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently in the community Compensation $17 hour This is an independent contractor position — contractor is responsible for their own taxes To Apply Please submit your resume and a brief description of your experience supporting individuals with disabilities.
