In this role, you will provide essential support and assistance to individuals with disabilities or special needs, helping them lead fulfilling lives. Your work will involve direct interaction with clients, ensuring their safety, comfort, and overall well-being while promoting independence in their daily activities. Duties As a Direct Support Professional, your responsibilities will include: Assisting clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management. Providing companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients. Implementing individualized care plans tailored to each client's specific needs and preferences. Supporting clients in community integration activities and encouraging participation in social events. Maintaining accurate records of client progress and reporting any changes in behavior or health status. Ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality and privacy. Collaborating with healthcare professionals, including nurses and therapists, to deliver comprehensive care. Experience The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience: Previous experience in home community care, memory care, hospice care, or nursing home settings is preferred. Knowledge of CPR and first aid techniques is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients. A genuine passion for providing patient care and improving the lives of individuals with disabilities or special needs. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
