This position focuses on enhancing the quality of life for clients by promoting independence and facilitating their daily activities. The DSP will work closely with clients to ensure their physical walking around the neighborhood , engagement during in-home art and craft activities, while treating individual in a compassionate and respectful manner. Direct Support Professionals (DSP) will be trained to provide care for an individual with autism that occasionally has mild to moderate behaviors. The position requires working closely with a second (DSP) staff, and in cases where your colleague is unavailable, we will ask you to continue the routine independently if you feel comfortable and confident. Responsibilities Provide direct support to individuals in daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation. Assist clients with mobility and transportation needs, ensuring safety during transitions. Observe and document patient behavior, progress, and any changes in condition while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Engage clients in social activities and community involvement to promote socialization and integration. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients. Skills Strong background in ABA or related fields is preferred. Knowledge of Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD). Experience in direct support roles with individuals with (ASD) or special needs is advantageous. Excellent communication skills with a compassionate approach towards caregiving. This role is essential for making a meaningful impact on the lives of those we serve, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care and support.
