I am promoting the DSP position for the Mariposa Day program in the city of Merced, but the job is in the city of Mariposa, CA 95338 Job Summary The mission of Adelante's Adult Day Program is to provide support and advocacy for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities as they participate in their community. We believe valuing and respecting personal choice, offering flexible and personalized assistance, and building community relationships is central to the development and maintenance of natural supports in the community. Adelante is looking for full-time Direct Support Professionals for an Adult Day Program serving clients in Mariposa. Through this role a DSP will support individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities to promote health, safety, respect, and well being of the clients. A DSP supports individuals to have quality of life and serve as advocates for our clients.
Skills / Responsibilities
  • DSP will work under the supervision and direction of the Administrator
  • Maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment for the clients
  • Support the needs and goals of each individual
  • Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
  • Supervise and monitor clients during daily activities (including, but not limited to: recreation, social skills building, vocational, volunteering, Daily Living Skills)
  • Provide transportation to and from program and community activities
  • Assess, evaluate, implement and chart client's progress on goals and objectives
  • Report any incidents or problems and communicate daily with administrators.
  • Perform other duties assigned Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
