As a Job Coach/Direct Support Professional , you will empower adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to build confidence, develop employment skills, obtain competitive employment, and increase their independence within the community. What You'll Do As a member of our Employment Services team, you will provide individualized support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities by helping them prepare for, obtain, and maintain employment. Employment Preparation & Job Coaching Provide individualized job coaching both on and off the job site. Assist individuals with resume development, master applications, online job searches, and interview preparation. Teach workplace expectations, communication, professionalism, and job retention skills. Support individuals in learning public transportation and other independent travel skills. Assist consumers in identifying employment interests and overcoming barriers to employment. Collaborate with employers to ensure successful placement and long-term employment retention. Individualized Services Review Individual Program Plans (IPP), intake documents, and assessments to identify service needs. Monitor progress toward vocational and independent living goals. Provide encouragement, mentoring, and peer support throughout the employment process. Community & Employer Relations Build and maintain professional relationships with employers, Regional Center staff, families, and community partners. Serve as a liaison between consumers, employers, counselors, and support teams. Promote agency services through employer outreach, networking, and community engagement. Coordinate Job Club, pre-employment training classes, workshops, and employment preparation activities. Documentation & Compliance Complete daily progress notes, timesheets, and required documentation accurately and on time. Maintain confidential records and electronic databases. Prepare monthly reports for management. Ensure compliance with agency policies, Regional Center requirements, and applicable regulations. Team Collaboration Maintain regular communication with the Program Manager and fellow team members. Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development. Provide peer leadership, mentoring, and support when appropriate. Perform additional duties as assigned to support the success of the Employment Services program. QualificationsRequired Valid California Driver License. Reliable transportation with current insurance. Willingness to travel throughout San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Compassion, patience, professionalism, and reliability. Preferred Associate degree in Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, Special Education, Rehabilitation, or a related field. Two years of experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities. Experience with job coaching, supported employment, vocational rehabilitation, or case management.
