The qualified candidate who accepts this position must have the ability to work with the agency staff, Director, Program Manager, Administrative and Project Coordinators, Service Coordinators at San Diego Regional Center, Department of Rehab and private citizens. The staff member must be able to work independently and as a member of the team.
Community Work:
Meeting clients in the community. Assisting clients with ADL such as medical appointments, grocery shopping, school, or important paperwork like SSI and SDHC. Transporting clients to medical appointments as needed. Working with clients in the event that another staff cannot. Documenting any work with clients on the correct forms. Applicant must be open to working between several areas of San Diego County including but not limited to Escondido, Alpine, San Ysidro and Poway. Mileage will be reimbursed. San Diego Community Living Services is a passionate and diverse team that aims to assist adults with disabilities to be able to live independently in their own homes by providing each participant with the highest level of support and assistance. As a direct support professional you will work one-on-one with participants, helping them with developing essential life skills in the following areas: Independent Living Services (ILS) - Teach Daily Living Skills such as household cleaning, shopping, money management, and meal preparation. Supported Living Services (SLS) - Assist clients with caregiving tasks (including assisting with bathing/showering, diaper changing, and more hands-on with individuals with ADLs. Tailored Day Services (TDSO) - Assist participants with job searching, college education, transportation, and community access skills.

Requirements:
High school or equivalent. Experience working with disabled individuals. CPR/First Aid Certification, we'll help you obtain it! Bilingual in Spanish (Is a plus!) Flexible schedule Willingness to travel all over San Diego and surrounding locations (Is a plus!). Must be able to work independently Must have/own reliable transportation (Is a plus!) California driver's license and proof of automobile insurance (100,000-300,000 Bodily Injury Liability) and DMV Driving Record (If transporting) Benefits offered : Paid time off Health insurance Retirement benefits or accounts
