This energetic and compassionate position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day by providing personalized care, fostering community engagement, and supporting clients in achieving their goals. As a DSP, you will be a trusted caregiver, ensuring safety, promoting well-being, and enhancing quality of life through attentive and respectful support. Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and dignity. Monitor patients' vital signs and observe their health status to detect changes or concerns promptly. Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safe and compliant medication management. Support clients during meal preparation, cooking, and nutrition planning to encourage healthy eating habits. Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts and assist with heavy lifting to safely transfer individuals with mobility challenges. Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs, including dementia care, Alzheimer's care, autism support, or hospice care. Maintain accurate documentation of patient observations, progress notes, and incident reports while adhering to HIPAA confidentiality standards. Engage clients in social activities and community outings to foster socialization and enhance quality of life. Perform cleaning duties within client living spaces to ensure a safe and hygienic environment. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to coordinate comprehensive care. Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred. Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional training in medication administration or dementia care is a plus. Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with disabilities, developmental delays, or memory impairments such as Alzheimer's or dementia. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards. Physical ability to perform tasks involving heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking. Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and safety assessments. Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills for engaging clients effectively. Experience in meal preparation, cleaning, and maintaining a safe environment within home or community settings is desirable.
