Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with diverse needs, including developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, and other health conditions. In this vital role, you will empower residents to achieve their highest level of independence while ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident's personal assistive devices Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly to healthcare teams Administer medications following care plans and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for confidentiality Prepare nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with dietary guidelines and individual preferences, ensuring proper food safety practices Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties, laundry, and sanitation tasks regularly Support residents during social activities and community outings to promote engagement and socialization Follow individualized care plans designed by healthcare professionals to meet each resident's unique needs Document all care activities accurately in compliance with facility policies and state regulations Experience Previous experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred Hands-on experience with patient observation, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care techniques, and working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disorders such as autism Familiarity with home health or hospice care environments is a plus Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are advantageous Experience operating patient lifting equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident lifts is desirable Strong communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams, residents, families, and community resources Join us as a Direct Support Professional to bring compassion, patience, and energy into the lives of those who need it most.
