Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities, aging needs, or health challenges. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, personalized care that promotes independence, safety, and well-being. This paid position offers an engaging opportunity to foster positive relationships and enhance quality of life through attentive caregiving and community involvement. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, and grooming. Monitor residents' health by observing patient conditions, and reporting changes to healthcare teams promptly. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs, ensuring proper food handling and cleanliness standards are maintained. Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA privacy regulations, documenting all medication activities accurately. Support residents in participating in community activities, social outings, and recreational programs to promote engagement and independence. Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing routine cleaning tasks and adhering to infection control protocols. Follow detailed care plans designed by healthcare professionals to deliver consistent, high-quality support aligned with each resident's needs. Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly desirable. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, autism support, and working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges. Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or medication administration are a plus. Strong communication skills with a compassionate approach toward residents' emotional and physical well-being. A valid driver's license (if required for transportation duties) and willingness to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays.
