Job Description

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated life skills coach to join our team and empower the people we serve through education and increased community access. Our programs help individuals develop the skills necessary for living as independently as possible, pursuing their educational and employment goals, and being valued as contributing members of their community. We have a part-time position available, working in person, providing support and guidance to the individuals we serve. Position:
Direct Support Professional (Life Skills Coach): Work one-on-one with individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities: Teaching the skills they are wanting the learn either in community settings, job or volunteer sites, school campuses, or the individual's home. Skills include but are not limited to: cooking, health and wellness, community and internet safety, finding a job, volunteering, developing and maintaining healthy relationships, communication skills, self-advocacy, decision-making, problem-solving, and self-care, such as grooming, hygiene, or budgeting. What we are looking for in candidates: Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, the needs of persons with developmental and intellectual disabilities A desire to help others through teaching and encouragement A passion for lifelong learning and a commitment to creating opportunities for growth for the individuals we serve High School diploma or equivalent and be at least 18 years of age or older Driving will be required with the particular individuals being supported; therefore, an insured vehicle in working order and a clean plus valid Driver's License are required. Physical ability to climb stairs, walk for reasonable distances, and lift up to 25 pounds. Proficiency in
