Torrance, CA Job Details Part-time $18 - $22 an hour 1 hour ago Benefits Paid training Paid orientation Qualifications Client rapport building Behavioral support plan implementation Relationship management Full Job Description Allcare Homecare is seeking compassionate, patient, and dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide 2:1 support service for an adult client with Autism. This position requires individuals who are energetic, engaging, and committed to building a positive and supportive relationship with the client. The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys being active in the community, can provide companionship, and is comfortable working in a highly structured environment. Due to the complexity of the case, there is a significant amount of information, training, and support strategies that staff will be expected to learn and consistently implement.
Responsibilities:
Provide direct 2:1 support to a client with Autism. Assist with community integration and social activities. Build a positive, respectful, and supportive friendship-based rapport while maintaining professional boundaries. Follow individualized support plans and behavioral support strategies. Assist with daily living activities as needed. Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes. Work closely with supervisors, family members, and support teams. Ensure the client's safety, well-being, and dignity at all times.
Requirements:
Experience working with individuals with Autism, developmental disabilities, or behavioral challenges preferred. Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in all situations. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Reliable transportation and valid driver's license preferred. Ability to learn and follow detailed support plans. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Must be willing to participate in training and ongoing coaching.
Ideal Candidate:
Friendly and outgoing personality. Enjoys helping others achieve their goals. Comfortable with hands-on support and active engagement throughout the shift. Flexible, adaptable, and able to follow directions consistently. Able to work collaboratively with another staff member in a 2:1 setting.
