Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional (DSP)/Caregiver specializing in working with children who have developmental disabilities. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, personalized support to children and their families, fostering independence, growth, and well-being. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with diverse needs while developing your skills in caregiving, behavioral health, and community support. Responsibilities Provide direct supervision and support to residents in accordance with their Individual Service Plans (ISPs). Ensure the health, safety, dignity, and well-being of all residents. Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication reminders/administration (QMAP), transportation, recreation, and community outings as assigned. Implement positive behavior support strategies and approved behavior management plans. Use trauma-informed and de-escalation techniques during behavioral incidents. Complete required documentation, including daily progress notes, medication administration records (MARs), incident reports, and communication logs. Maintain appropriate supervision of residents at all times in accordance with CDHS regulations and agency policies. Participate in team meetings, training, and ongoing professional development. Report suspected abuse or neglect immediately in accordance with mandatory reporting laws. Perform light housekeeping and maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming home environment. Minimum Qualifications (Required) High school diploma or GED. At least 21 years of age Eligible to pass all Colorado Department of Human Services - required background checks. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Reliable transportation. Current CPR/First Aid certification, or ability to obtain before working independently. Current QMAP certification, or willingness to obtain within the required timeframe. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist residents with activities of daily living. Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts as assigned. Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and resident rights. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with children or adolescents. Experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD), autism, or behavioral health needs. Experience in a residential child care facility, group home, foster care, behavioral health, special education, or human services setting. Knowledge of trauma-informed care, positive behavior support, de-escalation techniques, and person-centered care. QMAP certification (preferred). Bachelor's degree or coursework in psychology, social work, human services, education, nursing, or a related field (preferred but not required).
