We hope you will consider joining us as an employee owner. Integrated Life Choices (ILC) is seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). DSPs at ILC provide support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a variety of settings to ensure they have a meaningful life. As a DSP, you will work with individuals to support them in achieving their hopes and dreams. Vocational DSPs support individuals at work sites during the day. The ideal candidate for this position is someone who is interested in supporting people in achieving their hopes and dreams. As a DSP, you will be responsible for maintaining consistent engagement with the people you are supporting, whether they are at home or out in the community. You will be required to work independently, create safe environments, and provide accurate documentation for the support provided during every shift.
Duties may include:
Supporting people in understanding and exercising their rights Encouraging people to live a fulfilling life as independently as possible through self-advocacy Providing the best person-centered supports to meet people's needs throughout their lives Supporting and encouraging positive interactions Improving social connections and relationships Providing transportation for those you are supporting Teaching skills to improve a person's life Supporting and encouraging participation in groups or organizations in line with a person's personal interests to meet recreational and social needs Utilizing Positive Support Programs to guide daily interactions Supporting a person with personal hygiene and medical-related needs, including medication administration Providing documentation at the end of each shift DSPs who work at ILC vocational locations support individuals with planned activities that encourage community inclusion, habilitation, and activities of daily living.

Qualifications Working Conditions:
This work can be physically demanding in some situations. Some physical work examples could be but are not limited to: Intervening in aggressive situation and/or physically demanding responsibilities Support with lifting individuals to and from wheelchairs Supporting a person to and from a shower Using a gait belt in a safe and dignified way Providing transportation for the people we support is an essential function of the DSP position. ILC requires all DSPs to have a reliable vehicle at every shift.
Education/Experience:
High School diploma or GED Successfully complete and pass all checks including: Nebraska Child/Adult Protective Services Central Registry check Criminal background check
Certificates and Licenses:
