Lakewood, CO Job Details Full-time $20 - $22 an hour 12 hours ago Benefits Paid training Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Life insurance Qualifications Wheelchair mobility assistance Driver's License Driving Full Job Description Intensive Direct Support Professional Needed Parker Personal Care Homes (PPCH) is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist in the care of an individual with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their residential setting. This is a full-time position, working Monday - Friday, approximately 30 - 36 hours per week. The highest need for support is typically in the early morning hours, so the shift will start around 5:30 / 6:00 AM, and last until the early afternoon. Our Direct Support Professional (DSP) will assist the Host Home Provider or other natural support provider in supervising and providing care to an individual with substantial intellectual and developmental disabilities by: Implementing behavioral and medical care plans Administering medications Completing daily documentation requirements Transporting to and from appointments Assisting with community inclusion outings Assisting with personal care and hygiene routines (bathing, dressing, toileting, etc.) Completion of household tasks as related to the individual, such as laundry, meal preparation, meal cleanup, bedroom and bathroom cleaning, etc.) Our ideal candidate will be kind, compassionate, and comfortable with non-verbal communication. We're looking for someone who will provide meaningful, person-centered, individualized support, and who will ensure the self-worth, health, safety and welfare of the individual receiving services. You must have a valid Colorado driver's license and a clean driving record, and have the ability to physically assist with wheelchairs, walkers or other mobility devices. Other knowledge, skills, and experience you should have: Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities preferred Experience working with Microsoft Office or other software Effective written and verbal communication skills, as well as effective listening skills, even when non-traditional communication is used Ability to respectfully address significant issues of health and safety while supporting an individual's choices Ability to work independently and as a cooperative member of a team PPCH is proud to offer: Competitive pay Outstanding medical, dental, vision and life insurance benefits Fully matched 401(k) Generous paid time off Sign-on bonus Company-paid training
