Job Description

Overview We are looking for a fill in PCA caregiver from June 15th to June 26th. It's 2 cases. One in Storrs MWF 10am-2:30pm. The other in Chaplin Tue & Thu 11am-4pm. Join our dedicated team as a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) , where your compassionate support and hands-on care will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with diverse needs. This paid role offers an exciting opportunity to provide personalized assistance, promote independence, and foster a safe and nurturing environment for residents in various care settings. Whether working in assisted living communities, memory care units, or home and community care environments, you'll be at the forefront of delivering essential services that enhance quality of life. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure residents' health stability Administer medications following prescribed protocols and document all medication activities accurately within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems Support residents with dementia or Alzheimer's by implementing personalized memory care strategies and behavior management techniques Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness and safety standards in meal areas Provide transportation for appointments or outings by driving safely and adhering to all traffic laws Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment by performing light housekeeping duties in resident rooms and common areas Requirements Prior experience in long-term care settings such as nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home & community care is highly desirable Certification or training in first aid and CPR is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification is expected Knowledge of assisted living practices, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities overall Ability to accurately take vital signs and recognize signs of health deterioration or emergencies Experience with medication administration following strict protocols and documentation procedures Strong communication skills to effectively support residents' social needs and collaborate with team members Valid driver's license for transportation duties; clean driving record preferred Join us if you're passionate about caregiving and eager to provide compassionate support that empowers individuals to live their best lives.
