In this vital role, you'll provide attentive, respectful care that promotes independence, safety, and well-being. Whether working in a home setting, assisted living facility, or group home, your dedication will help enhance quality of life for those you serve. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop your caregiving skills while fostering a supportive environment for both clients and colleagues. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to ensure comfort and dignity. Monitor patients' health status by observing vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration; report any concerns promptly. Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to maintain safety and confidentiality. Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary needs and assist with meal planning and cooking to promote healthy living. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring proper sanitation procedures are followed. Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident's to assist with mobility and prevent injury during transfers. Document care activities accurately in compliance with facility protocols and state regulations; update care plans regularly. Provide emotional support through active listening, companionship, and engaging in social activities to foster mental well-being. Support residents with memory care needs related to dementia or Alzheimer's by implementing personalized strategies for safety and engagement. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to deliver comprehensive patient-centered care. Experience Prior experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, and medication administration. Experience providing dementia or Alzheimer's care, hospice support, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is advantageous. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times. Hands-on experience using mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts for safe transfers. Strong background in home & community care environments or home health services is desirable. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting residents with mobility needs. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications like group home experience or nursing assistant credentials are a plus.
