Day Program Specialists / Direct Support Professional About the Role Are you looking for a meaningful career where your work truly matters? Join our dedicated team supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in a caring and supportive day program setting. As a Day Program Specialist / Direct Support Professional (DSP) , you'll play a vital role in empowering participants to reach their fullest potential-socially, physically, and emotionally-while ensuring their safety, dignity, and independence are always prioritized. What You'll Do Provide hands-on support with daily living activities, including hygiene, meals, and mobility Implement individualized program plans and engage participants in enriching activities Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment Support community outings and meaningful social experiences Maintain accurate documentation using agency systems Assist with safe transportation of participants using agency vehicles Respond calmly and effectively to behavioral or emergency situations What We're Looking For High school diploma or GED Valid Connecticut driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to obtain CPR, First Aid, AED, and Medication Administration certifications Strong communication and teamwork skills Comfort using computers and basic software A compassionate, patient, and reliable approach to care Physical & Work Environment This is an active, hands-on role that includes: Assisting with lifting, transferring, personal care/hygiene and mobility support Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching Working in environments with varying noise levels and conditions Attend community outings and events with individuals driving agency vehicles Following safety, sanitation, and infection control protocols Why Join Us?
