Overview Join our compassionate team as a Personal Care Assistant and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring support with daily activities and personal needs. In this vital role, you will provide attentive, respectful care that promotes independence, safety, and well-being. Whether working in a home setting, assisted living facility, or group home, your dedication will help clients thrive in a nurturing environment. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to ensure comfort and dignity. Monitor patient health by checking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings to healthcare professionals. Support medication administration following prescribed care plans and HIPAA confidentiality standards. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary. Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties and proper infection control practices. Use specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident's to safely transfer clients with mobility challenges. Document care activities accurately and update care plans regularly to reflect changing needs. Skills Proven experience in home & community care, assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care settings. Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to monitor vital signs effectively. Familiarity with Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism. Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, and HIPAA compliance are highly desirable. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate patient support equipment like Hoyer lifts. Strong communication skills for working collaboratively with healthcare teams, residents, families, and social workers.
