Job Description

Direct Support Professional Duties:
  • Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation
  • Implement behavior management systems to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals under your care
  • Support individuals in participating in community activities and social events
  • Advocate for the rights and needs of individuals with disabilities
  • Document and maintain accurate records of services provided
Skills:
  • Experience in hospice care, social work, or a related field is preferred
  • Knowledge of first aid and CPR techniques
  • Strong direct support skills, including caregiving and assisting with daily living activities
  • Ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities and behavioral challenges
  • Familiarity with behavior management systems and strategies
  • Understanding of resident rights and person-centered care principles
