Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals with diverse needs, including developmental disabilities, aging, and health challenges. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents through personalized support, safety oversight, and fostering a respectful, inclusive environment. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those served by promoting independence, well-being, and community integration. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary. Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes to healthcare professionals promptly. Support medication administration in accordance with HIPAA regulations and care plans developed by healthcare teams. Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary restrictions and preferences, ensuring proper food handling and sanitation standards. Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning tasks and adherence to safety protocols. Implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident's needs, including dementia care, Alzheimer's care, autism support, or hospice care. Engage residents in social activities and community outings to promote socialization and mental stimulation. Document observations accurately and maintain detailed records of patient progress while respecting privacy regulations. Skills Proven experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments. Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques, vital signs collection, and basic nursing skills such as CPR and first aid certification. Familiarity with care for individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or autism spectrum disorders. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts when required. Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach towards residents' physical and emotional needs. Excellent organizational skills for managing multiple residents' schedules and care requirements effectively. Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient information.
