As an HHA, you will work closely with clients and their families, delivering essential assistance that promotes well-being and enhances quality of life. Duties Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using tools like Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices. Monitor patient health by taking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration; document findings accurately in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Provide medication reminders and assist with medication administration following medical documentation protocols while respecting HIPAA privacy standards. Support patients with specialized care needs such as Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice support, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities. Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for clients. Document all patient interactions meticulously in medical records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care plans and report any changes in patient condition promptly. Experience Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred. Demonstrated ability to perform patient observation and respond effectively to changing conditions. Knowledge of medical terminology related to long-term care, hospice, dementia, and memory care is advantageous. Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) is required. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in home & community care settings enhances your candidacy. Strong communication skills combined with compassion for patient care are essential for success in this role.
