Job Description

Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Homemaker/Companion to provide essential support and companionship to individuals in their homes or assisted living environments. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those recovering from illness. The ideal candidate will be energetic, attentive, and committed to delivering personalized care that promotes independence, safety, and well-being. This paid position emphasizes respectful, patient-centered service and fosters a nurturing environment for those in need of assistance. Responsibilities Provide companionship to reduce feelings of loneliness and promote mental engagement Support medication reminders and help monitor vital signs as directed by healthcare professionals Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation to maintain a safe and comfortable environment Document patient care activities accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA privacy regulations Observe patients closely for any changes in condition or behavior, especially in cases involving dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or memory care needs Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, Hoyer lift transfers, or hospice-related support under supervision Requirements Prior experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care settings preferred Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with medical documentation practices Certifications such as CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and first aid are highly desirable Ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments including Alzheimer's and dementia care Strong patient observation skills with an empathetic approach to caregiving Experience working with EMR/EHR systems for accurate recordkeeping Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred for home & community care assignments Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting with Hoyer lifts or assisting with mobility safely Join us in providing vital home & community care!
