Part-Time | Weekend Day Shifts (Typically both Saturdays and Sundays with shifts between 6:30 AM- 10:30 PM; exact hours may vary) Hiring Immediately

About the Role We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Part-Time Weekend Day Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in a residential group home setting. This role focuses on providing hands-on support, maintaining a safe and structured environment, and assisting residents with daily routines, activities, and community engagement during daytime hours. Weekend DSPs play a vital role in maintaining consistency, safety, and quality of care while promoting independence, dignity, and meaningful daily experiences for residents. Key Responsibilities Resident Care & Daily Support Assist residents with morning routines, including hygiene, dressing, grooming, and breakfast preparation Support residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as hygiene and personal care as needed Provide supervision and guidance throughout the day to ensure resident safety and wellbeing Activities & Engagement Facilitate or assist with in-home activities, leisure time, and skill-building opportunities Support community outings when scheduled (shopping, appointments, recreational activities) Encourage participation while respecting individual preferences and abilities Meals & Household Support Prepare or assist with meal preparation, serving, and cleanup following dietary guidelines Complete housekeeping tasks during the shift, such as: Cleaning kitchens and common areas Assisting with laundry Maintaining a safe and organized living environment Medication Administration Administer medications as trained and authorized Accurately document medication administration in required systems Monitoring, Safety & Documentation Observe residents for changes in mood, behavior, or physical condition Follow support plans and use de-escalation strategies when needed Complete required documentation, including: Shift notes Daily logs Incident or communication reports Team Collaboration Communicate clearly with other DSPs, supervisors, and incoming shifts Relay important information to ensure continuity of care Attend staff meetings or trainings as scheduled Respect, Dignity & Person-Centered Care Promote resident independence, choice, and self-advocacy Treat all residents with respect, patience, and professionalism Follow agency policies, procedures, and ethical standards What a Weekend Day DSP May Experience Supporting residents through structured daily routines Assisting with meals, medications, and personal care Engaging residents in activities or outings Managing downtime and transitions calmly and safely Addressing behavioral or emotional needs using approved supports Collaborating with other staff in a fast-paced but rewarding environment Qualifications High school diploma or GED (required) Minimum 1 year experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in a group home or caregiving setting (preferred/required based on position) Must be at least 18 years old Valid driver's license and clean driving record (required for some shifts) Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with physical care tasks Must pass Level 2 background screening and complete required trainings (provided) Why Join Our Team Supportive, mission-driven work environment Paid training and certifications Flexible weekend scheduling Opportunity to make a meaningful impact every shift.
