Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily activities. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring their comfort and safety while promoting independence. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in emergency medicine or experience within various healthcare settings such as teaching hospitals, trauma centers, or outpatient clinics. Support clients with mobility and transfers to ensure their safety and comfort. Monitor and document clients' health status and report any changes to the healthcare team. Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to enhance their emotional well-being. Assist with meal preparation and feeding as necessary. Administer medications as prescribed, ensuring adherence to medication schedules. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to health and safety regulations. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses and therapists, to implement care plans effectively. Experience Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a related field is preferred. Familiarity with emergency medicine practices is a plus. Experience working in various healthcare settings such as inpatient medical-surgical units, PICU, outpatient clinics, or trauma centers (Level I or Level II) is advantageous. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team are essential. A compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others is required.
