Job Description

The Chanan Foundation is currently seeking dedicated and motivated Day Program Instructors to join our team at our Hiram location! The Chanan Foundation focuses on serving friends with disabilities through housing, education, and life skills. Most importantly, we recognize and celebrate the ability in all people. Our day program helps adults with disabilities transition from an individualized school environment to independent day services, utilizing a classroom-like setting. As a member of this team, the Day Program Instructor is responsible for providing training and support to the individuals based on a person-centered approach. They are responsible for assisting with skill acquisition and socialization, as well as the planning and executing of daily activities. The Day Program Instructor works as part of a team to help individuals achieve their goals based on their individual preferences and abilities.
Shift Time:
Monday-Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm

Tracking and monitoring ADL's Planning classroom activities and lessons Engaging individuals with the community Assisting with physical needs such as feeding and toileting Completing daily progress notes Provide supervision and guidance during skill building activities Develop a rapport with residents and cultivate a safe and supportive relationship Transporting clients to and from the
Day Center Qualifications/Skills:
High school or college diploma required Valid Georgia Driver's License Must be at least 21 years of age MUST be able to successfully pass a drug test on site MUST be able to successfully pass a background check 2+ years' experience providing direct care to patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities Current First Aid and Basic Life Support certification (or willing to obtain) Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills Compassionate about the care and well-being of others
