Job Description

Major Responsibilities Performs respiratory duties as outlined by the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board 's Declaratory Ruling for Respiratory Car e Assistants (RCA) or performs respiratory duties as outlined by the Georgia Composite State Regulatory Board. Completes all regulatory requirements. Completes proficiency evaluation of respiratory care equipment and procedures . Minimum Job Requirements Education A minimum of a High School diploma or GED required . Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited Respiratory Care educational program approved by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care ( CoARC ) and/or AMA .
North Carolina:
S uccessful completion of 1 year of an accredited Respiratory Care program required .
Georgia:
Senior student of an accredited Respiratory Care program required .
Certification / Registration
/ License Basic Life Support for healthcare providers thru the American Heart Association required . Advanced certification s per facility/department.
North Carolina only:
Registered with the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board (NCRCB) as a R espiratory Care Assistant (R CA ) . Experience N/A Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Excellent organization, prioritization, and time management skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and establish working relationships. Effective problem solving, decision making, and delegation skills. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and demonstrates the skills and competency appropriate to the ages, culture, developmental stages, and special needs of the patient population served.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Requires repetitive physical activity. Able to walk and stand to perform duties. Ability to lift 20-50 pounds. Ability to move patients of all age groups. Adequate hearing and eyesight are necessary. Exposure to a working environment that may include odors, low lighting, and crowded working conditions.
