SMILE (St. Mary's Independent Living Extensions) is a mission-driven nonprofit serving adults with I/DD and Autism. We work closely with individuals and families in Lawrenceville, Stone Mountain, Roswell, and Tucker, offering programs that build confidence, encourage independence, and strengthen community connections. Job Overview Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support / Caregiver Professional , where your compassion and hands-on care will have a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals who rely on personalized support. In this essential role, you will assist with activities of daily living, promote physical and emotional well‑being, and help maintain a safe, respectful, and empowering environment. In both home and community settings, your kindness, patience, and dedication will help people live fuller, more confident lives. Schedules (1) Part-Time Weekend every other Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm. (2) Part-Time Weekend live-in every other weekend from Friday at 11:00 pm to Sunday at 11:00 pm. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability Support residents with medication administration following proper protocols and documentation procedures Engage residents in social activities and therapeutic programs to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties and adhering to infection control standards Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams to coordinate care plans and address individual needs Skills Proven experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care environments Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems for documentation purposes Excellent communication skills for engaging with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments CPR and First Aid certification to respond promptly during emergencies Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral management needs Valid driver's license for driving responsibilities related to client transportation or errands Join us if you're passionate about caregiving and eager to provide compassionate support that empowers individuals to live their best lives.
