Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in various care settings. Duties Assist residents or clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor patient health by taking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration; report any concerns promptly Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety Provide patient observation to detect changes in condition or behavior, especially for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's, or neurodevelopmental disorders Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning to meet dietary needs of residents or clients Help with manual handling tasks using appropriate transfer methods like Hoyer lifts or patient transfer techniques to ensure safety during movement or repositioning Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols Support residents' participation in community activities or outings by providing personal transportation assistance when needed Document care activities accurately in compliance with HIPAA standards and update care plans regularly Assist with specialized care such as hospice support, memory care, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred Knowledge of patient observation techniques and vital signs monitoring is essential Experience with Alzheimer's care, dementia care, or memory support is advantageous Familiarity with care plans, medication administration, and patient personal care assistance is required Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using proper manual handling techniques; experience with Hoyer lifts is a plus Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional certifications related to healthcare are beneficial Experience working with individuals with autism or other neurodevelopmental disabilities is desirable Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensures confidentiality and privacy standards are maintained Join us as a Personal Care Assistant where your dedication transforms lives!
