Position Overview We are seeking a reliable, compassionate, and experienced Home Health Aide to provide weekend care for a client who uses a wheelchair for mobility. This is a consistent weekend-only position — perfect for someone looking for steady part-time work with a predictable schedule. The ideal candidate is patient, respectful of client dignity, physically capable of providing mobility assistance, and committed to delivering high-quality person-centered care. Duties & Services Provided The caregiver will be responsible for the following services during each shift: Personal Care & Hygiene Bathing assistance — full bed bath or shower assist with shower chair Grooming — hair care, shaving, oral hygiene, and nail care Dressing and undressing — including adaptive clothing as needed Skin care — moisturizing, inspection for pressure sores/redness Toileting assistance — transferring to/from commode, incontinence care Perineal care — maintaining cleanliness and preventing infection Mobility & Transferring Wheelchair transfers — safe bed-to-wheelchair and wheelchair-to-chair transfers Repositioning — regular repositioning to prevent pressure ulcers Range of motion exercises — passive or active-assistive as directed by care plan Ambulation support — assistance with any weight-bearing or standing as appropriate Wheelchair maintenance checks — ensuring brakes, footrests, and cushion are properly positioned Meal Preparation & Nutrition Meal preparation — cooking or heating meals per client dietary needs/preferences Feeding assistance — set-up or hands-on assistance as needed Hydration monitoring — encouraging and tracking fluid intake Special diets — following any dietary restrictions (low sodium, diabetic-friendly, pureed, etc.) Grocery list assistance — noting low supplies and communicating to family/agency Medication Assistance Medication reminders — prompting client to take prescribed medications on schedule Medication setup — organizing pill organizers as directed by the care plan Observation and reporting — noting and reporting any side effects or missed doses Household & Light Housekeeping Light housekeeping — tidying client's living areas, bedroom, and bathroom Laundry — washing, drying, and putting away client's clothing and linens Dishes — washing dishes and keeping kitchen clean Trash removal — emptying and replacing trash bags Bed making — changing and making bed with clean linens Companionship & Emotional Support Companionship — engaging in meaningful conversation and recreational activities Cognitive engagement — reading, puzzles, music, TV, or hobbies per client interest Emotional support — providing a positive, uplifting presence Community involvement — accompanying client on outings or appointments if applicable Safety & Health Monitoring Vital signs monitoring — temperature, blood pressure, pulse if trained/directed Observation & documentation — reporting changes in condition, mood, or behavior Fall prevention — ensuring safe environment and proper positioning at all times Emergency response — knowing and following emergency action protocols Care notes — completing daily shift documentation as required by agency Communication & Coordination Maintaining open communication with Sacred Serenity Hearts care coordinator Reporting any concerns about client health, safety, or environment promptly Coordinating with family members as needed per care plan Requirements High school diploma or GED required Minimum 1 year of home care, CNA, or caregiving experience preferred Experience working with wheelchair-bound or mobility-impaired clients strongly preferred Ability to safely perform transfers and mobility assistance (training provided) CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before start) Valid ID and reliable transportation Must be available every Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM consistently Strong communication skills and a compassionate, professional demeanor Preferred Qualifications Experience with pressure sore prevention and skin integrity monitoring Familiarity with Mobile Caregiver+ or similar EVV (Electronic Visit Verification) apps Bilingual skills a plus (English required) What We Offer Competitive pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour based on experience Consistent, predictable weekend schedule — same client, same hours every week Supportive, locally-based management team Mileage reimbursement (if applicable) Opportunities for additional hours as client needs grow A workplace culture built on compassion, dignity, and professionalism How to Apply Interested candidates are encouraged to apply as soon as possible — this is an immediate opening. ➤ Email your resume and a brief introduction to: sacredshhcare.hr@gmail.com Please include the subject line: "Weekend Caregiver Application — [Your Name]" We will contact qualified applicants promptly for a phone screening.
