Job Description

HOME HEALTH/HOSPICE AIDE SCHEUDLER/RECEPTIONIST
This individual is responsible for coordinating and scheduling the home health aide/hospice aide/homemaker visits under the direction of the Home Health Aide Supervisor. Assists in the administrative duties of the Home Health/Hospice and Public Health Departments.
Qualifications:
Preferred:
Experienced Healthcare experience preferred. Interest in people and displays tack and good judgment. Good communication and organizational skills necessary. Valid driver's license and car liability insurance necessary. Dependent Adult and Child Abuse Registry Mandatory Reporter Training certificates (or willing to get). Basic Life Savings certificate (ore willing to get).
Primary Responsibilities:
Schedule home health aide visits. Coordinate the visits between nurse, HHA and client. Keep HHA schedule book and master aide schedule current. Make HHA visits as necessary in period of increased census. Collect weekly aide documentation for billing and primary nurse review. Maintain filing system of aide sheets. The primary nurse will file reviewed aide documentation in client's charts in timely manner. Keep information confidential. Keep HHAs updated on upcoming in-services, meetings and end of the month billing responsibilities. Assist in setting up in-services on a yearly basis, incorporating hospital wide in-services and Hospice Volunteer in-services as appropriate. Keep open lines of communication with HHAs and report necessary information to HHAs and nurses. Keep Home Health Aide Supervisor of Home Health/Hospice Manager informed of day-to-day operations. Maintain HHAs time logs and cards. Records attendance. Serves as department secretary. Greets customers and answers phone for departments. Takes and related messages. Knows whereabouts of RNs at any given time. Assists with office needs and rounds daily on doctor's orders and mail. Orders and maintains departmental supply needs. Maintains and controls filing system for departments.
