Job Description

Peer Support / Community Support Specialist Plains Area Mental Health, Inc. is a Community Mental Health Center with 7 locations in Northwest Iowa. Ensuring an environment of confidentiality and dedication•we put our people first. PAMHC is seeking a Peer Support / Community Support Specialist for our
CCBHC Counties:
Storm Lake, Sac City, Carroll, and Cherokee, IA. Position is 40 hours per week Monday through Friday.
Pay Range:
$19.81 to $22.28 depending on experience

NHSC Loan Repayment Position Summary:
This position primarily involves supporting and advocating for persons with severe and persistent mental illness by ensuring helpful, courteous, culturally competent and respectful services. Additional duties include providing trauma-informed care to a diverse population including clientele with co-occurring substance use disorders, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, maintaining all necessary documentation, and maintaining training through the peer support training academy with satisfactory completion and examination. Work location and population may vary upon organizational needs. Majority of work time will be spent in the community with clients. Will participate in daily rounds with the ACT team.
Requirements:
Must have experience with a severe and persistent mental illness, complete 30 hours of peer support training from the peer support training academy in the first 6 months after hire, must have valid and unrestricted driver's license and insurance
Preferred Qualifications:
