Our first priority, after safety, is teaching independent living skills. In Boise, we have an Adult Day Program where our clients come to participate in a group setting. During the week, the group spends half of their time in the center, and half of their time in the community. In the community, they do things such as go to Discovery Center, Libraries, museums, bowling, shopping and going out to eat. In the center they do things such as cooking groups, art projects, board games, computer skills, and socializing. This is an awesome environment which provides support and a lot of variety to avoid boredom and burnout. This position requires the ability to encourage clients and staff to participate, requires leadership ability, creativity, and great communication skills. You must have experience working with people with disabilities, and the desire to be a leader. The program runs M-F from 9-3; however, we are looking for someone to work another 3-8 hours a week to help with our job coaching program.
Schedule:
