Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional, where you will play a vital role in empowering individuals with disabilities, developmental or intellectual disabilities, and those requiring specialized care. In this energetic and rewarding position, you'll provide compassionate support that promotes independence, enhances quality of life, and fosters a safe, nurturing environment. Your efforts will directly impact the well-being of residents by assisting with daily activities, implementing care plans, and ensuring their safety and comfort every day. This paid position offers an inspiring opportunity to make a meaningful difference while developing your caregiving skills in a supportive setting. Responsibilities Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care, grooming, bathing, and mobility support using manual handling techniques such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods. Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes to healthcare teams in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Support medication administration and help implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident's needs. Provide companionship and engage residents through meaningful activities that promote mental and emotional well-being. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties, meal preparation, and assisting with housekeeping tasks. Support residents during community outings or transportation needs using personal transportation assistance. Document observations accurately in compliance with healthcare standards and communicate effectively with team members about resident progress or concerns. Requirements Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred. Demonstrated ability to perform patient observation, monitor vital signs, and assist with ADLs safely and compassionately. Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, hospice care, and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism is desirable. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional training in manual handling or Hoyer lifts is advantageous. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration. Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform patient transfers using appropriate techniques. Pay:
$21.00 - $22.00 per hour
