Home Health Aide And Caregiver Comfort Caring Handz LLC Evansville, IN Job Details Part-time $15 - $18 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications CPR Certification Driver's License First Aid Certification Driving Meal preparation Full Job Description Male Home Health Aide/Caregiver Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and patient Male Home Health Aide/Caregiver to provide one-on-one support for an adult male with developmental and behavioral support needs. The caregiver will assist with activities of daily living while promoting independence, maintaining a structured routine, encouraging positive behaviors, and ensuring a safe, respectful, and supportive environment. Primary Responsibilities Provide compassionate, person-centered care based on the individual's service plan. Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, meal preparation, and light housekeeping. Maintain consistent daily routines that promote stability, independence, and overall well-being. Utilize positive behavior support strategies and effective de-escalation techniques when needed. Encourage the development of independent living skills, social interaction, and community participation. Provide transportation and accompany the individual to medical appointments, recreational activities, community outings, and other scheduled events as needed. Assist with medication reminders or medication administration in accordance with agency policy and state regulations. Observe, document, and report changes in behavior, health status, or daily functioning to supervisors and family members, as appropriate. Maintain accurate documentation and complete required reports in a timely manner. Ensure the individual's safety, dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times. Foster a positive, respectful, and trusting relationship while supporting the individual's personal goals and choices. Qualifications Previous experience providing care to individuals with developmental disabilities, behavioral support needs, or intellectual disabilities preferred. Knowledge of person-centered care practices and positive behavior support techniques. Excellent communication, patience, and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm, professional, and compassionate in challenging situations. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and a satisfactory driving record (if transportation is required). Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred. Ability to successfully pass all required background checks and meet state home care employment requirements. Preferred Skills Experience supporting adults in home and community-based settings. Strong organizational and documentation skills. Dependable, flexible, and able to work independently.
