Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional support and care to individuals in various care settings. In this vital role, you will assist clients with their daily activities, monitor their health and well-being, and ensure a safe, comfortable environment. Your positive attitude and proactive approach will help enhance the quality of life for those you serve, fostering independence and dignity every day. Duties Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using proper manual handling techniques and patient transfer methods like Hoyer lifts. Monitor patients' vital signs and observe for any changes in health status, reporting findings accurately to healthcare professionals. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs while maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment. Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans established by healthcare providers. Provide companionship and emotional support, engaging clients in meaningful activities to promote mental well-being. Maintain detailed documentation of patient care activities, observations, and progress notes in compliance with privacy regulations. Assist with transportation for medical appointments or community outings using appropriate personal transportation assistance methods. Experience Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred. Demonstrated ability to perform patient observation, monitor vital signs, and assist with medication administration accurately. Experience working with individuals with autism, neurodevelopmental disorders, intellectual disabilities, or dementia (including Alzheimer's and memory care) is advantageous. Knowledge of care plans development and implementation for residents with complex needs such as Alzheimer's or hospice care. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of patient information at all times. Hands-on experience in personal transportation assistance, patient transfer methods, CPR/First Aid certification, and manual handling techniques such as heavy lifting or Hoyer lift operation.
