We serve a diverse population including adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, seniors, and individuals with complex care needs across various settings. Overview We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to join our team. In this vital role, you will provide personalized assistance and support to individuals with disabilities or health challenges, empowering them to live fulfilling lives within their communities. Your work will directly impact the well-being and independence of those you serve, fostering a safe, respectful, and engaging environment. Duties Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using manual handling techniques like Hoyer lifts when necessary. Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, medication administration, and overall condition to ensure safety and well-being. Support residents in meal preparation, cooking, and nutritional planning tailored to individual dietary needs. Implement and follow individualized care plans designed by healthcare professionals to meet each person's unique needs. Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties and adherence to sanitation standards. Provide companionship and emotional support while encouraging social engagement and community participation. Document care activities accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies. Requirements Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring. Familiarity with dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, autism support, and neurodevelopmental disorders. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional training in manual handling or Hoyer lifts is advantageous. Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks while maintaining safety standards. Strong communication skills with an understanding of HIPAA regulations for patient privacy protection. Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities or developmental disabilities across diverse care settings is desirable.
