We are now hiring for a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide direct care to those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Essential Responsibilities/Job Duties:
This role is in the disability services field, providing support to individuals who need assistance with daily living due to an intellectual, developmental, or cognitive disability. This position is working in a home with 1 individual Performing personal care tasks, including assistance with basic personal hygiene and grooming, feeding, and ambulation, medical monitoring and health care related tasks Ensuring client safety and maintaining a safe environment Assisting with toileting Reminding/assisting client with self-administration of medications (with proper training) Encouraging self-help activities and fostering positive relationships Reporting changes in client's condition to your direct supervisor Documenting services provided Performing home management functions such as light housekeeping, laundry, bed making, and cleaning Planning meals, preparing and serving food/meals, and clean-up Accompanying client to scheduled appointments, as needed Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High school degree/GED required 1 or more years working in the
IDD / DSP
field 18 years of age or older Ability to communicate (verbally and written) with all levels of personnel Ability to handle physical aspects of job, including bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and walking for periods of time Must maintain state regulatory certifications & training, as required by state/program requirements Medication Administration as required by state/program requirements Criminal history and background check
License/Certification:
CPR & First Aid Valid Drivers License & Auto Insurance Pay:
$17.00 per hour
