As a DSP, you'll help adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities live their best lives while building genuine friendships and creating unforgettable experiences. One day you might be helping someone cook their favorite meal, attending a baseball game, exploring a local festival, going bowling, making crafts, dancing to music, or simply sharing laughs over a cup of coffee. Every day is an opportunity to encourage independence, celebrate accomplishments, and make a positive impact. If you're caring, patient, and enjoy helping others, we'll provide the training—you bring the heart! What You'll Do Support individuals with daily living skills such as cooking, personal hygiene, dressing, and housekeeping. Encourage independence while providing assistance when needed. Take individuals on fun community outings like shopping, parks, restaurants, concerts, sporting events, movies, and local activities. Participate in crafts, games, holiday celebrations, and special events. Help individuals achieve personal goals and celebrate their successes. Prepare meals together and teach independent living skills. Administer medications and document services according to agency policies. Observe changes in health or behavior and communicate with the team. Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming home environment. Build trusting relationships that promote confidence, dignity, and personal growth. What We're Looking For A positive attitude and a caring heart. Someone who enjoys working with people and making a difference. Reliable, dependable, and willing to learn. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Valid driver's license with a good driving record. Ability to pass required background screenings. CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain—we'll help!). No experience? No problem!
