We are seeking to fill Direct Support Professional positions for our Staff residence schedule, providing care for adults with intellectual & physical disabilities. Candidate must have excellent written and spoken communication skills.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Must be 18 years of age High School Diploma or equivalentCaregiving:
1 year experience (Preferred) Professionally working with people with disabilities: 1 year (Preferred) Excellent attendance and punctuality Knowledge of medical terminology Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work Caring nature Helpful Team player Diligent All required training DDID regulations, Medication administration, First Aid & CPR is completed in house at Blessed Assurance during orientation. Must be able to read, understand and implement written and oral instructions Must pass a criminal background check Must pass pre-employment and random drug testing.General Duties & Responsibilities:
Scheduling daily activities Medication administration Initiating Physician's orders Completing daily progress note Charting on required internal documents Meal preparation Vital signs Incontinence Care Cleaning Cooking Community outingsPhysical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the Direct Support Professional role. The Direct Support Professional role requires frequent: walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, sitting, reaching overhead, and lifting up to fifty (50) pounds. Staff must meet applicable federal, state and/or local health requirements relating to communicable diseases. Work is performed mostly indoors in a temperature-controlled environment, except on occasion when participants are transported outside of the Day Training.Schedule:
Weekends are required 3 shifts per week Typically two 16 hour shifts and one 8 hour shift per week 16 hour shift: Start at 3:30 pm: end the following day at 7:30 pm Weekly schedule will vary Holiday pay One full weekend off a month Monthly schedulePay:
