Job Description

The Point/Arc of Northern Kentucky is a non-profit organization currently seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to serve 3-6 adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) in group home settings. Full-time and part-time positions available in group home locations throughout Northern Kentucky - in Ludlow, Edgewood, Erlanger, Independence, Newport, Alexandria, Florence and Burlington. Part-time positions pay between $14.04 and 16.38 per hour following completion of training. Full-time positions start between $16.38 and $18.72 per hour after completion of training. Primary responsibilities of the DSP include: Provide personal care to residents including showering/bathing, skin care, grooming, dressing/undressing, transfers, positioning, meal and hydration assistance Maintain confidentiality and respect the dignity of each resident at all times Ensure the safety, welfare and rights of all residents Assist residents with daily living activities Assist in evaluating residents' abilities in self-care, home management and social/leisure skills Transport residents to various community locations Use agency vehicles and equipment responsibly Be responsible for providing a homelike environment while meeting the physical, social, and psychological needs of the residents Provide ongoing supportive training to assist residents in achieving their maximum potential for independence and self-direction Respond as trained to any medical issues that arise in the home Document residents' individual program plans, goals, and daily progress notes Administer and oversee medications in accordance with established policies and procedures (training provided) Assist in meal preparation and menu planning Maintain a healthy and clean living environment Other related duties as assigned Eligible candidates must be at least 21 years of age OR 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.
STNA, CNA, CMA, DSP
trained applicants are strongly encouraged. Prior experience working with individuals with I/DD is a plus. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record, must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and extensive background checks. Must have reliable transportation to and from work. Must have weekday and weekend availability, all shifts needed.
