Overview:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a crucial role in providing support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others.Duties:
- Assist individuals with daily activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
- Provide emotional support and companionship
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors
- Support individuals in participating in recreational and social activities
- Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals at all times
- Document and report any changes in behavior or health status to the appropriate supervisor
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in caregiving or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred
- Knowledge of resident rights and person-centered care principles
- Ability to effectively communicate and build rapport with individuals, their families, and other team members
- Basic understanding of vital signs monitoring
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and handle challenging behaviors
- Knowledge of hospice care principles (preferred)
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities (preferred)
