Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Hospice Aide to join our interdisciplinary team in Massachusetts. The Hospice Aide will provide personal care and support to terminally ill patients in their homes or in hospice care facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to patient care, excellent communication skills, and a passion for making a difference in the lives of patients and their families.
Responsibilities:
Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting Provide assistance with mobility and transfers as needed Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as laundry and meal preparation Provide companionship and emotional support to patients and families Observe and report changes in patients' condition to the interdisciplinary team Document patient care services and observations in an accurate and timely manner Provide respite care to allow family caregivers time for rest and self-care Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) or Home Health Aide (HHA) certification in the state of Massachusetts Minimum of 1 year of experience as a hospice aide or home health aide, preferably in a hospice or palliative care setting Strong communication and interpersonal skills Compassionate and empathetic nature Ability to work independently and as part of a team Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with terminally ill patients Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish)
