SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY
This position is part of a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week team of professionals providing shelter and support for homeless families. We are responsible for the provision of basic services to clients and for the safe day-to-day operation of the shelter. The shelter is located in Lawrence, MA. Our client's current needs are for first shift (7am-3pm), second shift (3pm-11pm), and third shift (11pm-7am). Up to $20/hour.
SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY
  • Initiate and maintain appropriate social interactions with residents and assist residents as needed
  • Conduct rounds of shelter to maintain safety and security of residents
  • Assist with preparation, serving and cleanup of meals during the shift
  • Intervene if a resident is in crisis (medical, mental health, interpersonal)
  • Complete assigned tasks of shift
  • Maintain order and cleanliness of the shelter
  • Attend and participate in monthly meetings and any other client required trainings
CLIENT'S REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Previous work with homeless individuals and/or families, disabilities or other at-risk populations
  • Ability to work alone and handle crises with good judgment, adequate communication skills - both written and oral
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certifications
  • Must be able to occasionally ascend/descend stairs up to three or more sets, frequently move equipment weighing up to 5-20 lbs., and remain in a stationary position 50% of the time Additional Essential Functions
  • Sitting, standing, reaching above, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, traversing, thinking, speaking, writing, concentrating, interaction with others.
