Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and dignity Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes to healthcare professionals Administer medications following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations for confidentiality Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning to support residents' dietary needs and preferences Support residents during recreational activities, social outings, and community events to foster engagement and socialization Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs safely during transfers and mobility assistance Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning resident areas and ensuring infection control protocols are followed Document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare standards and facility policies Experience Prior experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer's and memory care), and hospice or home health care is advantageous Experience with medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and developing or following care plans is desirable Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism enhances your ability to provide tailored support Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, HIPAA training, or nursing assistant credentials are a plus Previous roles involving patient monitoring, heavy lifting (including Hoyer lift use), or working in long-term care settings will strengthen your application A compassionate attitude combined with patience and excellent communication skills is essential for success in this role Join us as a Direct Support Professional where your dedication fuels positive change!
