Job Description

Direct Support Professional (DSP)/ Weekday/Weekend Counselor (PT) Community Support Services, Inc. (CSS) is a non-profit organization based in Gaithersburg, MD. CSS is committed to providing inclusive and innovative community-based services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in their pursuit of individually chosen life goals to live, work, learn, interact with others, and recreate in their community.

We are seeking employees that are passionate and caring to provide direct support to adults and children with intellectual developmental disabilities.

If you are passionate about helping individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities, this may be the position for you. Community Support Services (CSS) caters to the upper Montgomery County area. We are seeking dedicated, caring employees to support individuals with autism in learning skills to allow them to live more independently in addition to providing some selfcare. You will work closely with nurses and psychologists to implement plans to teach individuals more independence and safe ways to achieve their goals.
REQUIRED TRAINING/PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS
• Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent • Completion and demonstration of techniques taught in the
MANDT, CPR
& First Aid training's, other training's as required by CSS which are provided in orientation. • Successfully complete annual re-certification of the MANDT. • Recommended to have a valid driver's license and a driving record free of any moving violations for the past two (2) years.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Employee must be able to effectively use non-adverse physical intervention strategies with individuals with autism of varying heights, weights and levels of physical strength according to the guidelines presented in MANDT training.
Location:
In person •$23.29 is the rate after all training and compliance has been completed. The starting rate is $22.16 for this position until training is complete.
