Job Description

Job Overview Location:
Hyattsville, MD Join our team as a Direct Support Professional supporting individuals in group homes and community settings. You'll provide compassionate daily care, promote independence, and help maintain a safe, supportive environment. This role requires a Spanish‑fluent applicant; Spanish must be the primary language with strong English proficiency. Male or female applicants are welcome. Duties Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using manual handling techniques like Hoyer lifts when necessary Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing for changes in condition, and reporting findings in accordance with HIPAA regulations and care plans Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal consumption to promote health and well-being Support residents during recreational activities, social outings, and community integration efforts to foster independence and social engagement Administer medications following prescribed protocols and document all medication administration accurately Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing routine cleaning tasks and adhering to infection control standards in line with healthcare regulations Provide specialized care for residents with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, autism spectrum disorder, or other neurodevelopmental disabilities, including memory care techniques and behavioral support strategies Skills Fluency in Spanish as the primary language, with strong English communication skills (male or female applicants welcome) Experience in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home health Strong observation skills and ability to follow care plans CPR/First Aid capability Clear communication with residents, families, and team members This role is perfect for compassionate individuals eager to make a positive impact through direct support work.
